Wales Coast Path - Llanfairfechan to Llandudno Junction

Wales Coast Path - Llanfairfechan to Llandudno Junction

A walk along the North Wales Coast Path between Llanfairfechan and Llandudno Junction

An easy walk that parallels the coast, the North Wales Coast Railway line and the North Wales Expressway. In terms of sounds the traffic wins outright which detracts from the views. The walk does provide a better conclusion with a wander around Conwy.

NOTE

This is a walk summary intended to provide the user with just the essential information in order to navigate the walk route. Fully detailed information notes, refreshment stops and walk features are not included in this. A full write up will be included in the near future.

Walk Notes

The walk is predominantly along a paved path that is used by both cyclists and pedestrians. There is a coastal view throughout and passing trains whisk themselves along every few minutes. However, the dominant detraction is the North Wales Expressway, a highway full of thundering monotonous traffic. It is not until the coast turns and the highway disappears into a tunnel under the headland that precedes Conwy that one can really start to enjoy the walk.

Conwy town is worth taking time out to explore with the castle and the town walks and the world most smallest house all being worthwhile attractions. The water front is a photogenic area where the Liverpool Arms provides a good range of ale including Conwy Brewery on the occasion we visited. A satisfying pint of beer.

The walk crosses over the Conwy river bridge to end at the bus stop close to the large roundabout at Llandudno Junction. There is a regular bus service that runs between the start and end of this walk.
