Walk Notes
Not wanting to walk the usual Weavers Way route that traverses some of this distance, this route was planned to take in some different views. The Dilham canal is located to the east of North Walsham and a country lane leads to the bridge across this. There is a well worn path alongside the canal that leads to the Ebridge Mill. From here a track cuts across the hill to Briggate Bridge where the canal flows under the former railway. The short stretch along this old trackbed, briefly following the Weavers Way makes a worthwhile excusrion to take in the renovated platforms of the former Honing Station.
Tracks and country lanes then lead through to Worstead with its magnificent church of St Mary the Virgin which is well worth taking time out to investigate. Close by is the White LAdy pub although not visited on this occasion as it was before the lunchtime opening hours.
Worstead station is somewhat adrift of the village and involves walking down to station road via a footpath and then using the pavement to get to the station.
