Walk Notes

This challenge walk attempts to complete the whole of the Suffolk Coast in daylight hours which equates to some 60 miles over 2 days of walking. This second part uses the beach where possible since the Suffolk Coast Path has a lengthy excursion inland around Easton and Benacre broads. The route selected here is more in keeping with the proposed route of the England Coast path as is the route beyond Lowestoft where the present Suffolk Coast Path terminates. For the beach sections it is vital to check the tide times for the section from Southwold to Pakefield. This section controlled the times to undertake this challenge walk and the beach section should be performed around the low tide mark. This has some of the fastest eroding coastline in Europe and the coast is regularly changing.
