A 23 mile walk along the Lincolnshire Coast between Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe
Although a Lincolnshire Coast Path has yet to be established, this walk sets out a viable route for all budding coast walkers. This follows defence banks and permissive paths with a little road walking where necessary.

An 10 mile beach walk from Boston to Wrangle
An alternative route to the coastal defence banks that provides a change to the marsh views. Open flat farmland, tiny hamlets, large churches and plenty of pubs along the way. Not strictly part of a coast path but this route roughly follows the coast of medieval times when Wrangle boasted the third largest harbour along this section of coastline.

An 11 mile along the sea defence banks from Boston to Fosdyke
This walks follows the start of the Macmillan Way as the first stage of the walk around the Wash. The route follows the Haven river before heading down to Fosdyke bridge on the River Welland. The walk is typified with acres of flat marsh, water filled creeks, wide open skies and views for miles around.

An 18 mile along the sea defence banks from Fosdyke to Sutton Bridge
A fairly extensive walk into the wide open expanse of the Wash along defence banks that lead the way around the extremities of the reclaimed land. It is awe-inspiring, it is remote. An RAF bombing range occupies a length of the furthermost parts but this does not restrict the use of the path. The eastern side of this walk is said to be the area that King John lost the crown jewels in the 13th century when he attempted to cross the Wash.

A 10 mile walk along the Lancashire Coastal Way from Freckleton to Lytham.
The Lancashire Coastal way is a 137 mile footpath following the coastline between Merseyside and Cumbria. The starting point is at the little village of Freckleton which lies midway between Preston and Lytham St Annes on the Ribble Estuary. This first section through to Lytham follows the estuary along the salt marshes and alongside the Warton airbase. Views can be seen across the estuary towards Southport and beyond are the hills of Wales. A fine days walk that takes one from river to coast.

A simple 3.5 mile walk along side the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Amazing scenery with the sounds of steam engines chugging up the gradients makes this an awesome walk. The route follows the Esk Valley through woodland and open pasture in this idyllic Yorkshire setting. The return route can be a ride on a steam railway which appeals to most people, and with a steep gradient to scale it provides all the sound and excitement associated with steam trains.

There is currently no official Lincolnshire Coast Path although Natural England are committed to having something in place as part of the English Coast Path by 2020. A 15 mile way along the Lancashire Lancashire Coastal Way between Lytham St Annes and Fleetwood
The route goes through one of the principle holiday resort areas in England and the entire distance is walked along concrete promenades with access to the beach when the tide is out. There are numerous points of interest including the famous piers and tower at Blackpool and the constant trams that clank along the seafront.

A strenuous 16.5 mile hike along the Cleveland Way following the coastline from Robin Hoods Bay to Scarborough
This is a lengthy section of the Cleveland Way with some steep climbs and descents makes it a strenuous walk. However the scenery is magnificent with large cliffs and outstanding views which make this well worth the effort. Don't rush. Take ones time and enjoy it.

A 9 mile walk following the Cleveland Way between Saltburn and Staithes
This walk passes over the highest point on the east coast of England, a 670 foot high cliff at Boulby. The entire route bears the marks of numerous quarrying operations from over the centuries. The village of Skinningrove is roughly half way, and it is this place that holds a legend of a merman being captured and held in one of its cottages.

A fairly easy wander along the coastal section of the Cleveland Way between Scarborough to Filey
When it comes to the Cleveland Way this is one of the easier sections but there is no lack of amazing views. The walk hugs the clifftops for the most part with little in the way of challenging climbs although certainly never flat. The Cleveland Way ends at Filey Brigg which has various legends as to how it was formed. From here it is a simple walk down into Filey.

A 7.5 mile beach walk from Skegness to Gibraltar Point
Gibraltar Point, with its Nature Reserve, Visitor Centre and Wash Study Centre can be accessed via a dedicated road from Skegness town centre. This walk attempts to access the Point by way of the beach. It is imperative that one heeds the tide times in order to walk this route, but those doing so will be treated to some outstanding beach views and the solitude that this deserted area brings with it.

This walk follows the coastline using the proms and the beach throughout. An excellent beach walk by all accounts with acres of sand and under wide open skies. One cant really get lost, just keep the sea on the right, or left if walked in reverse.

A 12 mile walk following the Cleveland Way between Staithes and Whitby
A fabulous walk along the Yorkshire coast. Amazing views and not too challenging. Runswick Bay is just under half way where a broad sandy beach presents a different view ending with a climb up the rocky crevasse known as Hob Hole. The walk ends at Whitby where there is plenty to explore.

The 14 miles Peter Scott Walk from Sutton Bridge to West Lynn, crossing the border from Lincolnshire to Norfolk
Leaving Sutton Bridge, this renowned walk heads down to the lighthouse made famous by the wildfowler turned conservationist Peter Scott. Few folk venture beyond this but those that do the full walk will be treated to the wide open views with the North Norfolk coast sitting on the horizon and the Wash Islands, a failed venture to create fresh water havens in this land of marsh and mud flats.

An overview of a walk around the Wash from Boston to Kings Lynn
Three rivers flow out into the Wash, namely the Welland, the Nene and The Ouse. Public footpaths follow the defence banks that border these rivers and the marshes that adjoin the coastline in between. The A17 provides bridges across these watercourses at Fosdyke, Sutton Bridge and West Lynn respectively. The walks are typical of this fenland area with vast open landscapes and huge skies which provide a unique charm to this part of the English coast.

An 8 mile walk following the Cleveland Way between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay
A fairly easy ramble across the cliffs from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay with some spectacular views and scenery. It is worth taking some additional time to wander around Whitby before embarking on this walk. But beware of the Beguist, a legendary hellhound that is said to stalk the streets of Whitby.

An 7.5 mile beach walk from Wrangle to Wainfleet
An alternative route to the coastal defence banks that provides a little more interest. Open flat farmland, tiny hamlets and a long straight footpath that was once thought to have been a Roman road. The end of the walk is at Batemans Brewery where a worthy reward of some handsome ale can be purchased in this unique setting within the confines of an old windmill.
